The role & team

Our Technical Services Team at Specsavers strive to improve and support our systems, to exceed the expectations of our colleagues and delight our customers with an experience they value. 

As our Modern Workplace Engineer you will contribute to the strategic road map of the business and play an integral role in the development and support of technologies that help Specsavers colleagues work securely, productively, and collaboratively from anywhere, on any device. 

Within your role as a Modern Workplace Engineer you will act as a ANZ regional lead in the design, development, and implementation of several initiatives that specialise in Microsoft Modern Workplace Technologies, especially SharePoint, Teams, Identity and Power Platform, you will be accountable for their successful adoption across the support office and stores. 


The skills we are looking for

  • Demonstrable experience delivering solutions in one or more of the following technology groups:
  1. Office 365 Platform (Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, Office)
  2. Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents, Power BI)
  • Active self-initiated learner with a sound approach to finding solutions to technical challenges and actively pursue knowledge of industry best practice
  • Demonstrated aptitude to think strategically and understand the practical application of technology infrastructure, appropriate to the business and aligned with strategic business technologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Modern Endpoint Management (Windows 10, Intune, AutoPilot, SCCM Co-Management, Enterprise Mobility)
  • Experience with large scale cloud user/device management and migrations covering MS Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint as replacements for legacy on premise file sharing and intranet portals
