What you'll do

Join the friendly and welcoming team at Specsavers Masterton, known in their community for delivering the highest quality patient care!

Masterton is situated on New Zealand’s North Island and is less than two hours’ drive from Wellington. Known for its vast natural beauty, the town is the main urban centre of the Wairarapa.  The Wairarapa is known for its many vineyards, excellent dining, cafes and restaurants, walking and hiking trails and majestic coastlines.

Masterston is easily accessible as flights run directly between Auckland and Wellington and you can either drive or catch a train directly to Masterton. There is a rising population as many move out of Wellington to seek more affordable housing and that relaxed work-life balance. The town has 2 great cinemas with a boutique cinema in nearby Martinborough, a bowling alley, a fantastic Aquatic Centre and multiple gyms to choose from.

Specsavers Masterton opened in 2012, is 120sqm in size and boasts a 1176 frame count, 3 Optical test rooms, a dedicated Audiology room, 6 dispense desks, a staff office and state of the art, automated equipment including OCT, HVFs, Digital imaging for fundus, Nidek Autorefractor, Pachymeter, and Goldman/Icare/NCT tonometry.

The team at Masterton have seen and cared for patients with a vast range of eye issues and offer a rich array of experience including pathology, glaucoma management, therapeutics, paediatrics, contact lenses and keratoconus. The practice has frequent interactions with the medical community and is routinely the practice of choice that local specialists such as GP’s and pediatricians refer their patients to. Many of the city-based ophthalmologists allow the team at Specsavers Masterton to co-manage patients and see post-surgical follow-ups.
