The role & team

We have an opportunity available for a proactive Management Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting directly to the Corporate Financial Controller, you'll play a pivotal role in providing commercially focused financial accounting support to our Support Office operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis, working in collaboration with various teams.
  • Supporting the team in delivering monthly management accounts: ensuring journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations are finalised within deadlines.
  • Assisting with quarterly consolidation processes, year-end procedures, and audits.
  • Utilising your accounting expertise to drive efficiency and excellence in a fast-paced environment.

At Specsavers, we believe in adopting a hybrid approach to support our people and the future of work. When not working from an alternate location, the Management Accountant will be based at our support office in Port Melbourne.

 

The skills we are looking for:

  • Extensive background within a Financial/Management Accounting role, within a corporate environment
  • Effective Stakeholder Management skills and the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Experience utilising a large ERP System for Financial Management
  • Intermediate Expertise in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Demonstrated Competence in Audit, Budgeting, and Financial Consolidation Processes
  • Experience in the Retail Sector is highly desirable
  • Qualified CPA/CA
