The role & team

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Cloud/Infrastructure Solution Designer to join our Technology department. Forming part of our Technical Services team, you will be responsible for developing Specsavers use of, and move to, strategic cloud infrastructure.

In your new role, you will be responsible for the development and support of policy, procedure and local implementation of a global programme, with the purpose of providing a working global infrastructure based on Azure and our chosen cloud management platform. You will collaborate with subject matter experts within the existing operations and technology teams both local and global, to ensure the defined infrastructures are scalable, resilient, operable and maintainable. This will include infrastructure such as cloud storage, processing, and interconnectivity between clouds and Specsavers WAN. 


At Specsavers, we believe in adopting a hybrid approach to support our people and the future of work. When not working from an alternative location, you will be based at our support office in Port Melbourne. 


The skills we are looking for

•    Proven experience of design and/or implementation and/or support of highly distributed applications in Microsoft Azure (i.e. having an architectural sense for ensuring availability, reliability, etc.) 
•    Problem-solving mentality, leveraging internal and/or external resources where and when needed, to do what’s right for the business by formulating inventive workarounds and evaluating the risk of various deployment options
•    Demonstrated experience in “migrating” on premise workloads to Azure. 
•    Experience deploying, configuring, managing and supporting Azure SaaS products 
•    Azure certifications would be highly desirable:
o    AZ-700 Designing and Implementing Microsoft Azure Networking Solutions
o    AZ-104 Azure Administrator Associate
o    AZ-305 Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions
o    AZ-400 Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
