The Role & Team
We are thrilled to be looking for a Solution Designer to join our Technology team on a full-time, permanent basis! As our Solution Designer, you will work across a wide variety of technologies and functions to design, build and implement required technology solutions to support the needs of the Specsavers business.  

In your role you will engage in consultation with subject matter experts within operations and technology teams locally and globally, to ensure defined solutions are performant, scalable, resilient, operable and maintainable. 
This position will be a mix of cross-functional, ad-hoc projects which will see you build strong relationships across the business. You will also have the opportunity to engage in a global projects which will transform our multi-channel customer experience platforms for ANZ. 

You are a design-thinker, life-long learner and IT generalist, acting as the custodian of technical knowledge for the organisation. 

At Specsavers, we believe in adopting a hybrid approach to support our people and the future of work. When not working from an alternative location, you will be based at our support office in Port Melbourne. 

Please note, due to the global nature of our business, you may be required to join meetings outside of standard business hours – however we value flexible working, with changes in start and finish times to accommodate this. 

 

The skills we are looking for

  • Experience in a similar role with demonstrated aptitude to think strategically, understand business drivers and capabilities (future and current state) and determine corresponding solution designs to drive targeted business outcomes. 
  • Design and application integration experience.  
  • Experience in working in Project teams across multiple project delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile and Wagile)
  • Stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information and its business implications with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Integration design experience with COTS, SaaS and custom applications is desirable 
  • Experience in working in multi-functional, operational support teams.
  • Keen self-starter, able to take responsibility for delivery of required outcomes with limited supervision.
  • Current, formal technical certifications on technologies including Microsoft Windows, Azure is highly desirable
