The role & team

Due to an internal promotion, our Technology department is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to join the team. Reporting into the Infrastructure Operations Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of our IT infrastructure while providing technical support for all of Specsavers ANZ. You will be responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, maintenance, on-going operation of systems hardware and software, including systems testing and documentation, report writing and user training when required. To be effective in this role you will have a core fundamental skillset in the Windows ecosystem, working with Domain Controllers, Active Directory, Windows Clustering, IIS and everything else Windows has to offer.

This role also requires on call technical support to support our business critical systems on a shared roster.

The skills we are looking for

  • Prior Experience in a similar System Administrator / IT operational role; supporting hardware and platforms within a Window’s environment
  • Strong Intune experience 
  • Handson experience developing and maintaining Azure / Active Directory / Google Mail / Office 365 and configuration procedures
  • Ability to script in PowerShell
  • Experience in a VMware multi-site environment 
  • Extensive knowledge of networking/server hardware, systems, topologies and protocols, investigatory and break fix scenarios 
  • Palo Alto (desirable) or equivalent firewall experience 
  • Cisco and MS Azure Certifications or equivalent experience is desirable
  • A passion for technology and willingness to learn new skills across a range of technologies
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present your ideas clearly and effectively
