Salary: $100,000 – $120,000

Actual compensation within the range will be based on experience

What You’ll Do

Purpose of the role

The Technology team provides the IT services that helps our business run and grow. This is by giving our store and support office colleagues the tools and equipment that enable them to be great at what they do, which is to help our customers.

 

Key Responsibilities

Development and Delivery Management:

  • Shape, define and initiate IT projects to meet business requirements and in line with IT project and product roadmaps.
  • Negotiate and agree project objectives, scope, deliverables, timescales and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain detailed and realistic project plans using appropriate tools. Identify and manage project dependencies and the critical path.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party vendors to ensure their development teams are delivering product features on time.
  • Ensure control and engagement through project meetings and steering groups as appropriate.
  • Regularly interact with feature teams on backlog content, prioritisation, and story readiness and completion.
  • Support and challenge teams in their estimates for story complexities and points, ensuring KPIs are set, tracked, and achieved.

 

Testing, Release, and Transition Planning:

  • Liaise with UAT teams to facilitate testing in line with delivery plans.
  • Conduct release planning, including rollout plan, CAB, service introduction, and communications.
  • Ensure efficient handover of projects to our local and global support teams, as well as relevant suppliers, as necessary.

 

Budget and Process Management:

  • Obtain approval for costs via IT Governance. Track and manage costs within the approved budget, flagging exceptions and obtaining further funds if required.
  • Demonstrate effective budget planning and cost controls for new technology projects
  • Support the management of the overall delivery area budget, including timesheet forecast/actuals, one-off costs, overheads, and expenses.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to agreed delivery processes, with a view to improve ways of working and enable efficiencies.

 

Collaboration, Support, and Reporting:

  • Foster collaboration across teams and 3rd parties and address any shortfalls in KPIs, skillsets or other delivery challenges.
  • Support projects that require product feature development, ensuring project requirements are met and risks/issues are addressed.
  • Provide regular status reports of feature change/delivery.
  • Support the Annual Planning process for the feature teams, analysing demand across the portfolios and proposing team size/structures for the next financial year.

 

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • 3 years Practical experience in Agile delivery and project management,
  • Track record of delivery of mainly applications and/or software delivery projects, in a fast-moving and demanding environment.
  • Proven ability to implement solutions into businesses and transition from delivery project into ongoing operation.
  • Excellent time management, organisational skills, and ability to work independently on multiple tasks.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and relationship-building skills.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in cost and budget management and working with 3rd party and offshore vendors.
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility, excellent judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Organised and supportive of process, but also flexible and able to make things happen.

 

Nice to have

  • Formal qualification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile)
  • Retail or corporate systems experience a distinct advantage
