Your role
In this newly established role as Head of Operational Excellence for our People function, your role will involve delivering high standard business driven operational practices and People processes across NE. You’ll be spearheading the delivery of best practice reward and policy structures as well as ensuring proper systems support and data to strengthen our decision making.
Working closely with the P&O Director, you’ll ensure the creation and implementation of a People Plan in NE in line with the Global people and business plan and make sure that this is delivered locally. With your team of 2 direct reports, you’ll oversee regional deliverables as well as making sure that your team is motivated and up to speed. Your primary tasks and responsibilities include:
- Being a key member of the NE P&O Leadership team, where your inputs are being valued
- Ensuring consistency of the Reward Agenda and delivering on the salary and bonus-process in close collaboration with the NE P&O Team and Group Reward
- Securing a compliant and relevant approach in how we work across the region with above-mentioned areas and making sure we optimise our use of the available people data
- Offering leadership support while delivering project and change management when implementing and upgrading our new HR System (Success Factors)
- Ensuring strong collaboration with regional finance team to support headcount and budget processes
- Leveraging people analytics to improve data driven decision making
- Ensuring that HR, Support Office Recruitment and People Managers processes in NE support offices are GDPR compliant

- Represent NE as a region to influence the Group agenda for your function.

As our newly appointed Head of Operational Excellence, you’ll become an integral part of the dynamic NE P&O team, collaborating closely with talented colleagues within Regional and Group HR and Finance and the local Heads of P&O in the region. Our team boasts an impressive collective experience of many years in the field, with some members having dedicated many years to Specsavers while others bring fresh perspectives.
Your qualifications
For you to succeed in this role, you’ll need to convey complex people data to support decision making and be able to understand how effective People operations creates value for the business. Your experience enables you to prioritize and adapt global initiatives locally.
We also see great value in you having leadership experience from previous roles, so that you can support and develop your direct reports the best way possible.
We anticipate that you bring a solid background in HR – experience from a (preferable international), complex matrix organisation. On top of that, you can recognise yourself in the below essential requirements:
- Attention to details with the ability to work with tight deadlines and to manage/deploy complex projects
- Experience with payroll operations, systems and standardisation, reward, and benefit structures and processes
- Track record of optimizing Master data management and operational standards
- Track record of delivering people data and analytics and solid Excel skills
- Track record of linking business strategy with people engagement measures
- Extensive experience running and reviewing salary and bonus processes
- Knowledge of Success Factors is beneficial.
