Hvad du kommer til at lave

Would you like to be part of Specsavers legal team covering legal advice and guidance on commercial contracts and other legal issues across five Northern European markets?

We’re looking for a new Legal Counsel at Specsavers Northern European support office to join our daily “go-to” legal team for our Northern European business, primarily providing legal advice and guidance with commercial contracts.

What you’ll do

As our Legal Counsel, you will become part of our Northern European Legal Team, consisting of two lawyers and our Legal Director. Together, you’ll work in close collaboration with our 35+ global legal colleagues situated in different locations worldwide.

Your main task will be to provide legal advice in relation to commercial contract, such as drafting and negotiating contracts, termination, resolving disputes and supporting the Northern European business with maintaining our contract repository and creating templates.

You’ll support the business across our five Northern European markets (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and the Netherlands) and primarily support Procurement, but also many other stakeholders.

As a key member of the legal team, you will also:

  • Engage and participate in global cross-functional contract projects and make sure the outcome is sufficiently implemented in each jurisdiction
  • Proactively support all functions with legal knowledge and training so that they’re always up to date on our Contract Policy and potential legal risk areas
  • Assist colleagues in various legal areas, such as marketing law, data protection and consumer-related questions
  • Be required to do limited travelling within the region and to our offices in the UK and Guernsey.

Who you are

You have a Law degree from a university in the Nordics (Denmark, Sweden, Norway or Finland), and you have experience from private practice and/or as an in-house lawyer. You also have experience in some relevant legal areas, such as commercial contracts and data protection.
Further, to be successful in this job, these are essential skills:

  • Good understanding of retail, preferably based on your own experience
  • Excellent communication and language skills
  • Fluent in English (verbal and writing)
  • As a person, you have a friendly and positive approach and an ability to influence and persuade others. You have a ‘get-it-done’ attitude, and you are creative in finding solutions. Also, you are a team player with strong relationship skills who can break down barriers across functions and countries.

Specsavers – which is also known as Louis Nielsen in Denmark – offers you a challenging position, working with highly competent colleagues as well as working for a rapidly growing business.
