The Business Development (BD) team is responsible for ensuring our store portfolio has the right conditions to enable growth. This involves having great looking stores, in the right markets, the right locations, with the right capacity in space and sight test rooms. This means that the BD team works with store projects where they relocate, rebrand and open new stores. Other than this role as BD Manager the team consists of a Contracts Manager, a Store Environment Manager and a BD Coordinator – all reporting to Head of BD. We work closely with the property-, retail-, and design teams but above all closely with our store owners.  
What you’ll do? 
As part of leading and delivering on the BD-strategy: 
  • Create and deliver store projects together with store owners, and the rest of the team. 
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.  
  • Provide robust business cases and financial projections for all Business Development proposals and ensure that they are aligned with Specsavers core principles. 
  • Create business proposals aligned with country stakeholders.  
  • Update, maintain, and control the rollout programme to keep the wider business advised of project schedules. 
Additional job tasks as Business Development Manager: 
  • Research and evaluate potential new store locations, summarising and presenting details of the proposed opportunities for board approval by means of well-researched, accurate and focused reports. 
  • To support the wider Commercial and Retail teams from time to time as required. 
  • Management of Ad Hoc projects and analysis as required by the business. 
  • Maintain positive working relationships with our partners, that allows transparent two-way communications in all meetings and forums. 
  • Effectively communicate and update all relevant stakeholders on key Business Development priorities and challenges. 
Who you are? 
As BD Manager, you need to be comfortable with multitasking and thrive in high-paced environments, juggling many different stakeholders, while keeping an eye on the details.  
In the role we are looking for you to have the following experience and qualifications: 
  • Experience working and leading in a fast-paced/dynamic commercial organisation. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate effectively across all media and cultures.  
  • Understand Income statements and Balance sheets  
  • An ability to manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritise accordingly. 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a retail or franchise environment, and experience from working cross-functionally. 
  • Commercial mindset, supported by a business acumen.   
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point 
  • Fluency in both Swedish and English.
