Your role
Employees and their well-being are at the heart of Specsavers and therefore also our biggest focus area. As a HR Business Partner, you support the support office with various HR (P&O)-related areas, and you help our store owners (partners) to create a workplace where job satisfaction and employee development are part of everyday life. You will work closely with the P&O team at the support office in Maarssen and the regional managers for the stores, and these will be your main tasks:
- Provide HR support, advice and challenge to the wider management team
- Responsibility for different P&O areas based on the needs of the organization – for example onboarding, wellbeing, D&I, management support in recruitment processes, internal communication and insurances
- P&O-related administration
- Being the driver with absence management for both support office and stores
- Understand and contribute to the development of the People Strategy with the rest of the P&O team
- Support the Head of P&O to develop plans to drive through the people agenda and execute against the plan
- Act as a facilitator to enable individual, team and business development
- Support and proactively work with partners on P&O-related issues, such as employee and team development, rehabilitation, and labour law issues and negotiations
- Use the P&O strategy to scope project plans that are relevant to your business area.
Your development
Within 3 months, you will:
- Be onboarded and establish in the local HR/ Payroll team. Learn about our ways of working and get to know our employees and their needs
- Gain understanding of the matrix organization and stakeholder management
- Start working with your pears in Northern Europe working together on projects such as onboarding, wellbeing & other initiatives. Support the Head of P&O in absence Management, Quarterly bonus management & Talent Reviews
Within 6-12 months, you are:
- Running projects such as Diversity & Inclusion and Great place to Work
- Understanding how to best support the Head of P&O in daily operation and how to support the management team.
- The go-to person for all support office employee questions, administration, development needs and employee wellbeing.

Your new team
We’re a highly skilled and collaborative team with an ambition to take Specsavers’ employee experience to the next level. As HR Business Partner you´ll have 1 direct report and be part of a P&O team consisting of 7 colleagues, including Payroll. We like to get involved, learn from each other, and have fun together even though our roles are quite independent. You´ll also collaborate with many other colleagues at the support office and in the stores.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who has the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in P&O or similar and at least 3 years of experience in an HR Business Partner role
- Good expertise in labour law, negotiation experience and broad experience of manager support and employee matters
- Used to independently run projects and different areas of responsibility
- Very good language skills both written and oral in Dutch and English
- Preferably experience from retail or manufacturing and distribution environment
- Awareness of working in a multi-site organization.
