Are we doing everything we can for every glaucoma patient?

Giles Edmonds, Specsavers Clinical Services Director, will describe the scale of glaucoma detection and referral that Specsavers is engaged with. He will highlight the need for consistency in care models, an enhanced role for primary care optical clinicians and the benefit of optometrists and ophthalmologists working together to support people to live well with glaucoma.

Professor Anthony King, ophthalmologist and chair of Glaucoma UK, will explain why the charity has adopted a new vision – an end to preventable sight loss from glaucoma.

Paul Morris, Director of Professional Advancement at Specsavers, will consider the critical role of clinicians in supporting these outcomes – and why supporting and encouraging optometrists’ development, gaining additional qualifications, has been central to the success of community services and improving the quality of primary eye care for patients.
