Introduction yourself and tell us your job role:
Hi, my name is Jamie Holden I am 46 years old the father of two amazing daughters. I have been with Specsavers for over 10 years and I am Contract Manager in the Group Legal team.
What was your background before joining Specsavers?
Before joining Specsavers I worked in IT for 20 years, across various different industries, but always in service delivery.
Tell me a little bit about your journey at Specsavers?
I joined Specsavers in 2013 as a SME in Apps Support. As part of this role, I helped set up the IT Commercial team, which is where I started working with Darren James on a regular basis. From there Darren offered me the opportunity to move into Vendor Management Office in IT. When in 2018 I was offered the chance to take a huge leap of faith and move into the legal team full time, and I am proud to say that I recently qualified as a CILEX (Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) Paralegal in 2023.
How did Specsavers help and support your development?
Specsavers have supported my journey from the start and sponsored me through the CILEX programme.
What gives you pride in your role?
I love all the tiny details; I love being able to say this is a fair contract that is going to help Specsavers deliver on its mission for its customers – to improve lives through better sight and hearing.
What would you say to encourage someone thinking about applying?
Go for it! The future is what you make of it…
Why do you love working at Specsavers?
Two biggest reasons are firstly Specsavers is changing people’s lives every day, and I love being a small part of that. Secondly, Specsavers really does stand behind its people and helps them achieve their dreams.
Finally, tell us a little bit about yourself out side of work
