I decided to join Specsavers because I’d heard specifically about the culture through other people, and I knew I wanted to be part of it as well. I remember my first day seeing how nurturing the culture was and I continue to see this every day! Within my first year with Specsavers, I was immediately supported with my development both in terms of soft skills and recognised industry qualifications and technical training. That has continued throughout my time here.
I have been lucky enough to introduce Service Design & Transition functions into several organisations and seen the value of it supporting both delivery and operation. Also, I thrive on supporting my team in being effective in their role, I want everyone in my team to enjoy working at Specsavers and making a difference to our colleagues and customers as a result. During my time at Specsavers, I have learnt not to give up on trying to make positive changes, sometimes you must think outside the box or try a different way to get the outcome you want.
One word to describe the Specsavers culture would be energetic.
I’ve got an 18-month-old son who takes up most of my time outside of work. Before he was born, I did a lot of hiking and mountain climbing so I’m looking forward to getting back to that soon and taking him up mountains with me.
