I’m Sam Coonan and I’m the Category Manager here at Specsavers, I support a wide range of teams for all things Procurement from facilities to aviation and insurance to travel & events.
What was your background before joining Specsavers?
I worked in Housing and Construction, but I’ve always worked in Procurement.
Tell me a little bit about your journey at Specsavers?
I joined Specsavers in 2019 as a Category Buyer, after three years (spent the majority in a global pandemic!), I was promoted to my current role.
How did Specsavers help and support your development?
Specsavers is full of opportunities and regular discussions help you focus on your chosen career path.
What gives you pride in your role?
Working for a business that makes me smile every day.
What have you learnt during your time at Specsavers?
I still learn every day at Specsavers, but mostly I have never felt so valued in any job I have ever worked in.
What would you say to encourage someone thinking about applying?
Take the leap, you’ll never look back. Marketing at Specsavers follows you everywhere, I don’t think I go a day without seeing that green logo or an advert.

I’m a crazy cat lady. I also love socialising with friends and going on holiday!
