Optical Assistants: Customer focus in a frontline role

At Specsavers, the focus is on providing customers with the best level of service in a welcoming and up-to-date store environment.

Our Optical Assistants play a key role in the smooth running of the business; greeting customers and ensuring all their needs are met, whilst maintaining the high standards of customer care Specsavers is renowned for.

They also frequently get the chance to go above and beyond for customers, as we offer staff numerous specialist training opportunities to help them advise customers with specific needs. For example, the majority of our stores are now Dementia Friendly, with employees completing an exclusive training programme designed to provide additional support for customers with the debilitating condition.

On top of learning extra skills, Optical Assistants are also trained to provide excellent style advice for customers and soon become experts at picking out the best frames to suit every face shape. If you’re someone with a passion for offering style guidance or helping others rediscover their confidence, you’ll find you have every opportunity to flex those unique customer service skills in this role.

Specsavers is about more than just selling glasses, hearing aids and contact lenses… it’s also about changing lives for the better. Our lively, vibrant working environment puts our retail teams at the heart of this process, giving them the chance to see the effects of their hard work in the smiles of customers leaving a store.
