Our 65th Specsavers-in-Sainsbury’s store opens!

We’d like to say a huge congratulations to the team in our 65th Specsavers-in-Sainsbury’s store!

The store in Sainsbury’s Fosse Park was officially opened in a ribbon-cut ceremony on the 23rd November, with the new directors Baljit Kaur, Owen Clarke and Dishpal Gawera all present to celebrate opening the doors to their new business.

Fosse Park is one of the strongest trading Sainsbury’s stores, and the new Specsavers store is one of our largest – at 1600ft with capacity for 5 test rooms, including a dual care Audiology room. It’s ideally located to service the needs of the community and provide essential sight and hearing services.

The store is trialling a number of new visual fittings, with a brighter and fresher feel. From the external welcome wall, the store fascia, internal graphics and the most personal element, the “hello, welcome to…” greeting.

Store 65 with more to come as the relationship with Sainsbury’s continues to be as strong as ever, it’s great to be part of a business who continue to invest and expand the store network ensuring we are more accessible and able to meet the growing needs of our customers.

Fosse Park Specsavers have already seen a fantastic response from customers, with the two stories below demonstrating the difference we have already made to their lives:

Gail’s story…

Gail woke on Friday morning with discomfort in her eye and soon discovered she had a contact lens stuck that she couldn’t remove. After calling a number of stores in the morning and having no success in getting through, she called our new Fosse Park store.

She got through to the team and was immediately booked in. The Optometrist removed the contact lens and ensured her eye was healthy.

Our store team were there for her when she needed them and she was very grateful for being seen so quickly.

Maureen’s story…

Maureen, age 80, read about the new Fosse Park Specsavers launching soon and gave us a call last Friday morning to get booked in.

She opened up about feeling very nervous with venturing from the house, hardly leaving home since the first lockdown in March. However, after reading about our brand new store with all of the latest technology we’ve installed she felt safe and secure to get booked in for her eye test.

She is very excited to receive the OCT examination and asked the team to not let her leave “until I’ve had everything you’ve got”.

I’m sure you will all join us in wishing every success to Bal, Owen, Dishpal and the Fosse Park team!
