Specsavers Mini Professional Advancement Conferences return

Last year over 3,500 optical clinicians benefitted from our MiniPAC clinical conference series, and this year is already shaping up to rival that success. As part of the 2024 MiniPAC programme, we’re hosting 10 regional face-to-face events for Specsavers colleagues, alongside 10 free online sessions open to all optical clinicians wherever they work.

‘Online options for CPD means you can fit it around busy lives. The opportunity to discuss case studies with others gives the benefit of everyone’s experience to learn from. This was my first session of CPD over Zoom and it was great.”

The discussion workshop programme provides up-to-date learning of relevance to everyday practice, with CPD for all practitioner groups including contact lens and independent prescriber specialties. Topics include optic disc clinical decision-making and referral, myopia management, digital single vision, talking multifocals, a day in the life of an independent prescriber, and living with low vision, as well as sessions to build knowledge and expertise around learning disabilities and autism.

For those specialising in domiciliary, the ‘Dementia and vision’ online sessions explore visual symptoms associated with the onset of dementia. There is also the peer review ‘Referral riddles in domiciliary practice’, looking at the perils and potential pitfalls when deciding if a referral is appropriate for people receiving eyecare at home.
