Salary: Up to £32,000 depending on experience

Working Hours: Full or part time working patterns considered. No late nights and alternate Saturdays off

Experience Level: Open to both newly qualified and experienced Dispensing Opticians who are registered with the GOC

Our Dispensing Opticians are an integral part of our store management team, so we’re keen to get you up to speed. With ILM courses, Pre-Reg supervision and the Specsavers Partnership scheme (Pathway) all available to explore. Along with your clinical and retail expertise – this will stand you in good stead if you choose to become a store director yourself one day.  The store has excellent transport links and parking and there will be plenty of opportunities to socialise with the team outside of work.

About the store

The store is located in the middle of the main high street in the lovely town of Abergavenny. A team of 15 dedicated colleagues call this store home. You would be joining experienced partners Ankit Shah and Sejal Somaiya-Shah. There’s a full refit and rebrand planned for early next year which will help to drive the business forward so that it flourishes for many years to come.

There are currently 4 optical test rooms and 1 hearcare room, all fully equipped with the latest clinical technology including OCT. They also offer advanced optical services such as low vision clinics and cataract pre and post op care.

Location

Tucked between the seven hills, close to the Welsh/English border, Abergavenny is rightly known as the Gateway to Wales. It’s a pretty market town situated on the doorstep of the beautiful Breacon Beacons.  Abergavenny benefits from regular local transport, the train station is a 15 minute walk from the store where a train to Cardiff takes less than 50 minutes. There is free parking nearby and for drivers, access to main roads such as the A40 and A465 are just minutes from the store.
