About The Role

Specsavers have an exciting opportunity for a Dispensing Optician to join the team at Walworth Road, London. The focus at this store is about working together, ensuring that our valued patients and colleagues have a world-class experience.

At Specsavers Walworth Road you will be joined by a great team of Dispensing Opticians, two of which are trainees. We would love to see a Dispensing Optician that wants to support the development and training of the team as the role does require supervising the trainees. You can expect to also be signing off complex jobs as well as spending time in labs and remake reports on a monthly basis.

The store is based in Elephant and Castle where there are lots of exciting things to do nearby ranging from eateries, shops and the East Street Market which is one of London’s oldest and busiest markets. Running from Tuesday – Sunday, you can find a variety of things from clothes, household products, jewellery, to fresh fruit and veg. This was even featured on the opening credits of Only Fools & Horses.

What We’d Love To See

You’ll need to be a qualified and GOC registered Dispensing Optician that is commercially aware. Whilst we are ideally looking for a minimum one years’ qualified, we would be open to newly qualified as long as you have the confidence in supervising trainees and the willingness to progress. As part of our team, you’ll need to be able to provide a unique blend of customer care and professional excellence. You’ll need to demonstrate good attention to detail along with a passion for the community. Teamwork also forms a big part of our culture, so the ability to work well with others is essential.
