Role: Hearing Aid Dispenser Apprenticeship 
Location: Staines
Hours: Full time
Upon Completing this Apprenticeship you will obtain a foundation degree


At Specsavers our Hearing Aid Dispenser apprenticeship roles will enable you to work full time earning a salary whilst studying towards a fully funded foundation degree. The course typically runs for 16-24 months and upon completion you will be a fully qualified hearing aid dispenser who will also be qualified to perform Wax removal. 

The apprenticeship is a College/ University led programme that includes online lectures and between 7-11 weeks of residentials at the College/ University you are studying with. You will be supported on a day-to-day basis by a HCPC registered supervisor who will be assigned to you throughout the duration of the apprenticeship. 

During your apprenticeship you will develop a professional skill set, enabling you to provide diagnostic audiology and rehabilitation services, and where appropriate or necessary, to dispense hearing aids to members of the public where a hearing difficulty has been identified.  

You will always act in the best interests of the customer, acting with honesty and integrity and promoting best practice. This will include working to Specsavers values, providing the highest levels of clinical care, service and aftercare to all patients and customers.

Once you are qualified as a Hearing Aid Dispenser with Specsavers this is when your career truly begins, our stores offer on-going training and progression opportunities with the ability to own your very own Specsavers store in future.


Eligibility Criteria 
•    Be aged 18 or over 
•    Have Level 2 English and Maths which is required prior to taking the End Point Assessment

  • Note: Level 2 can either be Functional Skills or GCSE Grade C / Level 4 

•    Be a resident of the UK for 3 years prior to the first day of the course
•    Be able to work a minimum of 30 hours  
•    Be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate in English, for those whose first language is not English. This is a HCPC requirement and must be to the standard of Level 7 of the International English Language Testing System.
