Position: Optometrist

Location: Barry, The Vale of Glamorgan

Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on experience 

Working Hours: Full and part-time working patterns available. No late nights

Experience: Open to both newly qualified and experienced Optometrists who are registered with the GOC

 

Specsavers in Barry have relocated into a brand new store, near the beach, and we’re growing quickly. We have all new, cutting-edge testing equipment in every room.  We’re growing our clinical team and we’d love you to join us. We’re seeking an Optometrist, prepared to undertake Pre-Reg supervision, to join our dynamic team at Specsavers in Barry but also want to hear from newly qualified Optometrists too.

 

Our Optometrist team are starting to specialise in different areas of Optometry that they have a passion for, so tell us what makes you tick! We may be able to support you to reach your goals, as we have for the rest of our team. You’ll become a valued part of an experienced team; collectively we have over 150 years of optical experience and our partner, Helen, is a lecturer at Cardiff University. 

 

Location

 

Barry is a vibrant coastal town with a bustling High Street making it a place to work and live. It houses gorgeous parks and the Goodsheds and Innovation Quarter – a shopping, eating and relaxing destination featuring independent businesses in an industrial heritage setting. Barry has also consistently been at the top of a list, compiled by the Centre for Economic and Business Research, as one of the most desirable places to live in Wales. As if that wasn’t enough, Barry is also surrounded by the Vale of Glamorgan’s rolling pastures, quaint villages, historic places and market towns filled with boutique shops and delicious eateries.  It is also within 30 minutes commute from Cardiff.

What we’re looking for

 

You’ll need to be a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist with the drive, passion and the willingness to build upon our customer-focused culture. As part of our team, you’ll need to be able to provide a unique blend of customer care and professional excellence. You’ll need to demonstrate good attention to detail along with a passion for the community. Teamwork also forms a big part of our culture, so the ability to work well with others is essential.
