Salary: up to £65,000 + Benefits and £10,000 Joining Bonus (terms apply)

Experience level: You must be a GOC registered Optometrist

 

We have an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist to join our Southampton City Centre store!

 

This position will take you into the vibrant, growing city of Southampton. With excellent transport connections to London and the South, it is not uncommon for people to commute from far and wide to be part of such a colourful place. Not only is the town brimming with fantastic new developments, it is perfect for families, as well as playing host to fantastic night-life. As an optometrist in Southampton, your client base comes with great variety, range, and plenty of familiar faces of course. In this large, fast-paced store there is never a dull moment.

The Store

The store is located in a busy city centre surrounded by high street staples and quality shopping. The Bargate Quarter shopping, living and leisure development opened in 2020 and is across the road from the store. There are direct rail links to Birmingham, Manchester and London and an international airport (Eastleigh).  Southampton is one of the UK’s top research universities; one of  24 universities within the Russell Group.

 

The practice runs a tight and energetic team with a very diverse customer base. Specsavers Southampton have 6 test rooms (all long form) and have a large contact lens database and deliver the local MECS for the NHS. The store is due for rebrand in the coming 12 months and we have Specsavers equipment in rooms. Phoropter heads are installed and we would consider any specific equipment requirements.

As a professional, you’ll be an expert at putting people at ease and welcoming customers with a naturally personable approach. You will talk customers through the eye examination process and talk through their options with them. What’s more, you must be passionate about what you do with an aptitude for organisation – which means you keep accurate records and always have up-to-date knowledge of the latest developments in your field.
