Specsavers are recruiting an additional optometrist in preparation for a brand-new store opening in Orkney! The ideal candidate would either be a newly qualified or established clinician that is looking to further their professional development within a supportive environment.
What’s on offer:
Become an optometrist at Specsavers in Orkney; a brand new store with a current and loyal patient base and the scope to expand! The directors have a great reputation for supporting staff progression and hold the very highest standards of care to staff and customers alike. This is a great opportunity to live and work in Orkney, helping and caring for patients whilst experiencing some of the most beautiful wildlife and scenery in the world.
The store is all on one floor, ensuring ease of access to all and boasts state of the art equipment such as OCT and phoropters. Additionally, we allow 30-minute test times and have additional staff in store to support after tests, giving you precious time with each patient in clinic.
Developing our team is at the heart of what we do. Our director is a highly experienced mentor and IP supervisor, holding additional qualifications including glaucoma certificates, so you’ll have the best possible support to undertake said courses. Additionally, there is the opportunity to progress to Partnership in store where you can run your own business!
The Islands of Orkney
Situated in the farthest north coast of Scotland and regularly voted in the top two- three places to live in the UK, Orkney is an archipelago of more than seventy islands, boasting the most beautiful scenery and housing many species of wildlife. If ancient history is your thing, take time to visit the 5000-year-old village of Skara Brae and other Neolithic sites including Maeshowe (a chambered burial tomb). Or time it right and witness with your own eyes, the world-famous Northern Lights. You’ll find plenty of green space to explore or stay by the coast on our fantastic golden sand beaches where you can spot seals, dolphins, and whales. This truly is the perfect place to go for a work life balance that matters.
What we’re looking for
You will be a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist with the drive, passion, and the willingness to build upon our customer-focused culture. As part of our team, you will be able to provide a unique blend of customer care and professional excellence; demonstrating good attention to detail along with a passion for the community. Teamwork also forms a big part of our culture, so the ability to work well with others is essential.
