About the stores

Specsavers in Cottingham sits on the village high street, whilst Hull is positioned right in the City Centre and Althorp Road has a retail park location.

All of the Specsavers stores prides themselves in ensuring that every one of their customers receives an excellent patient experience. The high levels of service and patient care have led to numerous positive customer reviews and excellent local reputations.

 

The Hull store boasts 10 test rooms, Cottingham 3 and Althorp Road 6 – all fully equipped with the latest clinical technology including OCT– meaning you will have everything you need to perform sight tests to the highest possible standards. There are 4 dedicated audiology rooms between the 3 stores and Cottingham acts as a spoke store to hubs Hull and Althorp Road.

 

A combined retail and clinical team of 82 call these stores home. The existing partners are really passionate in bringing to life the Specsavers vision and values in the Hull communities and beyond. Their aim is to passionately provide the best value optometry, audiology & other healthcare services to everybody, simply, clearly & consistently, exceeding customer expectations every time. Store locations

Hull

Commonly abbreviated to Hull, the city’s full name is Kingston upon Hull. It is a port city known for being awarded the title City of Culture in 2017 and lies upon the River Hull and Humber Estuary. Specsavers in Hull sits on the main pedestrianised shopping arcade on Jameson Street. There are excellent transport links with a railway station just 3 minutes walk from the store where you will be able to catch a train to Leeds or York in about an hour. 

 

Cottingham

The store is situated in the heart of Cottingham, a large village on the outskirts of Hull, with the market recently crowned as being the ‘best small outdoor market in Britain’. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops both independent and high street, the village is known for having a strong sense of community. With excellent transport links, there’s a train station less than half a mile from the store where you can get a train to Hull in less than 15 minutes or Leeds in an hour and a half. Free parking including disabled and mother and child’s parking spaces can be found outside the store.

 

Althorp Road – Kingswood Retail Park

The store is located in the heart of the bustling Kingswood Retail Park, which is towards the north of the city of Hull. Kingswood is THE shopping destination for the residents of Hull and the nearby local villages such as Beverley. The stores neighbours include Next, Argos, Asda, Boots, M&S, Sports Direct to name just a few. All visitors to the Retail Park enjoy the free parking on offer, which makes Kingswood a popular destination to visit. The location is also a desirable residential area and the Kingswood Housing Development continues to grow.

 

Requirements of the role

Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist with the drive, passion and willingness to maintain the customer-focused culture and the high standards of this successful store. As the new Optometry Partner, you’ll be able to provide a unique blend of customer care and professional excellence. You’ll be able to build a rapport with the existing team, demonstrate excellent attention to detail and possess an ability to build strong relationships within the local community.
