About the store

Specsavers Cirencester first opened its doors 20 years ago. The store has an excellent established reputation and is firmly embedded within the local community.

The store is situated on a busy high street in the market town centre and has 4 dedicated optical test rooms, all fully equipped with the latest clinical technology, meaning you will have everything you need to perform sight tests to the highest possible standards.

A team of dedicated and passionate retail colleagues call this store home. This includes a Store Manager who has been with the store since the day it opened 20 years ago and a long serving Assistant Manager. There is also an established resident clinical team including 4 Optometrists, CLO, and Pre-Reg. As the new Retail Director, you would have the scope to advise on training requirements, introduce new specialisms and build/shape the team further as required.

The store is a vibrant market town situated in one of the more affluent areas of Gloucestershire. This historic Roman town is known as the “Capital of the Cotswolds” as its just minutes from beautiful countryside, picturesque Cotswold villages and good road links via the M4 and M5 motorways. Cirencester is regarded as a charming and peaceful town with ancient honey coloured stone buildings in picturesque narrow streets. It’s also renowned for its unique shops, individual boutiques, fascinating antique emporiums, and craft shops as well as national chain stores. The store and centre have excellent driving access, plentiful parking, and a mainline railway station within a 10-minute walking distance.

 

Requirements of the role

Alongside being an experienced retailer with experience in Optics, the right person for this position will be confident, possess a strong worth ethic and a willingness to succeed. You’ll be passionate about your job and enjoy a fast-paced environment. You’ll be willing to go the extra mile for customers and someone who encourages their team to do the same.
