Optical dispensing and contact lens fitting
Our dispensing opticians and contact lens practitioners are highly-skilled professionals who advise on, fit and supply the most appropriate solution for each and every customer, taking into account individual visual and lifestyle needs. They advise on everyday eyewear and specialty lenses such as occupational lenses for computer use, prescription sunglasses, sports and safety eyewear, and contact lenses. As experts in their field, they also play a vital role in advising and dispensing to customers who are partially sighted as well as to children, where appropriate.

Why Kristal came back to Specsavers Canada as an optician
Back in 2006, Kristal Evans backpacked through Europe and South America. During her stop in the UK, this Canadian started what she thought would just be a job as a sales associate in the town of Rugby, England. She instead stayed with her Specsavers family for three years and during this time she would complete the Specsavers Pathway program to become an optical dispenser. Fast forward to 2021 to when Specsavers crossed the Atlantic to Canada, Kristal, now a mother of two, saw this as her opportunity to join the first Specsavers retail team in her home of Nanaimo.
By building a stronger bridge between retail and optometry Specsavers has at heart to value the optician role in stores. As an optician, I appreciate taking care of our customers by explaining to them their prescriptions and choosing the best frames and lenses to answer their visual needs. Specsavers offers continuous training and provides all the tools to accomplish this mission as eyecare professionals.
