Location: This is an on-site role based at our BC Distribution Center in Delta, BC.
Salary: $125,000 - $140,000
Actual compensation within the range will be based on experience
We also offer quarterly variable compensation package (bonus) + benefits

What You’ll Do
Purpose of the role
The role will be primarily focused on the management of operational activities across our manufacturing and distribution sites within British Columbia. Ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all our employees and ensuring the best possible service levels are adhered to. They will lead a team of warehouse management team supporting our store partners and delivering against service KPIs. This is a people focused role that requires an experienced Manufacturing and Distribution leader, capable of strategic thinking, delivering change through others, forging strong internal and external relationships, leading and developing high performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Champion a culture of Health & Safety excellence, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
- Define and drive the operational vision in close partnership with the Head of Logistics & Distribution to deliver first-class service to stores and customers.
- Provide leadership and oversight for the day-to-day management of manufacturing and distribution operations within the BCDC facility.
- Lead a multi-shift team responsible for all warehouse and manufacturing activities within the distribution center.
- Ensure store service expectations are consistently met in terms of quality and timely supply, responding quickly to feedback and driving continuous improvement in service levels.
- Monitor and communicate key business performance metrics (KPIs) regularly to warehouse teams and the wider M&D leadership group.
- Collaborate closely with Group Demand Planning and Forecasting to anticipate and adapt to volume fluctuations.
- Own inventory management across the distribution center, ensuring stock accuracy and availability.
- Oversee resource planning, ensuring operational efficiency and alignment with financial and service performance metrics.
- Conduct team performance reviews, identify training needs, and implement development plans to support succession and career growth.
- Ensure operational processes and systems are scalable, reliable, and aligned with continuous service improvement initiatives.
Manufacturing Operations
- Deliver manufacturing performance in line with quality, service, and cost targets.
- Lead the ongoing development of manufacturing processes, embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
- Oversee the deployment of new equipment in support of capacity planning and growth.
- Support the people and operational growth strategy in collaboration with the Head of Logistics & Distribution.
- Manage departmental operational costs, ensuring cost control and alignment with business objectives.
Leadership, Management & Development
- Inspire, coach, and motivate the team to improve productivity and grow in their roles.
- Embrace and lead change, ensuring timely and clear communication with all team members.
- Promote the manufacturing and distribution operation as a benchmark of excellence and operational best practice.
- Ensure performance management practices are consistently applied, aligned with business standards.
- Maintain regular communication forums to keep teams informed and engaged.
- Take responsibility for the personal and professional development of team members through feedback, coaching, and support.
Strategy, Change & Planning
- Partner with the Head of Logistics & Distribution to identify and develop service and cost improvement initiatives—from concept through business case development to implementation.
- Lead a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and process optimization.
- Support the implementation of new systems and processes associated with emerging business opportunities.
- Play a key role in deploying regional strategic initiatives and ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
- Ensure all site activities align with Specsavers’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Proven experience managing B2B and B2C distribution operations
- Strong understanding of provincial Health & Safety regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience overseeing multi-shift operations in high-volume environments
- Confident decision-maker, capable of full accountability for operational outcomes
- Highly effective in leading and developing teams in fast-paced settings
- Ability to work quickly, accurately, and efficiently, adapting to changing priorities
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently
- Skilled at influencing and engaging stakeholders across all levels of the business
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Practical knowledge of Lean Management principles, including 5S
- Experience with budget management and financial accountability
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- In-depth knowledge of logistics and warehouse operations, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- High-level experience in inventory management and stock accuracy control
Nice to have
- Experience managing manufacturing operations is a large plus, but at a minimum strong understanding of manufacturing operations and quality assurance
