Location: This hybrid role requires 3 days on-site at our Burnaby, BC office and 2 days remote per week.

What You’ll Do

 

 

The Senior Marketing Manager will manage impactful Trade & Activation marketing initiatives that drive business growth. Lead & develop a high-performing team of marketers, fostering a culture of accountability, creativity, and continuous improvement. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team Marketing Managers through regular performance reviews and personalized career development plans.
  • Partner with the Head of Marketing, Trade & Activation to manage Specsavers Canada Trading Calendars. Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Finance, Operations, Agencies, and broader Marketing teams to ensure strategic alignment and maximize impact across all trade initiatives.
  • Oversee the development and execution of Trade & Activation national and local campaigns, new store launches, and partner engagement activations.
  • Demonstrate deep expertise in delivering results within a fast-paced retail environment. Analyze campaign performance to identify insights and optimize tactics that improve ROI, customer engagement, and conversion.
  • Establish standardized workflows and repeatable planning frameworks for national & local campaigns, store launches, local marketing activities that enhance local community presence and drive short-term sales.
  • Apply a strong understanding of both foundational marketing principles and modern marketing theory to Trade Marketing strategies at local and national levels.
  • Act as a guardian of the Specsavers brand, ensuring clear, consistent, and customer-facing communications that reflect the brand’s tone of voice—warm, knowledgeable, and down-to-earth.
  • Remove roadblocks and coach the team in their interactions with store partners, regional managers, and marketing stakeholders. Ensure marketing plans are insight-driven and responsive to feedback.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and agency/vendor relationships to deliver projects on time, within scope, and to a high standard.
  • Monitor competitor activity and analyze campaign performance against business targets to uncover opportunities and trends that boost store traffic, bookings, and activations.

 

 

What We’re Looking For

 

  • 8+ years of marketing experience in trade, retail, or shopper marketing within a retail or agency environment—ideally supporting a global or national brand
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong strategic thinking and project management skills, applied with initiative, proactivity, and accountability
  • Experience supporting franchise or joint venture businesses from a head office perspective is highly regarded
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to write compelling briefs, influence stakeholders, and evaluate creative assets
  • Agile multitasker with a collaborative mindset and strong organizational skills, thriving in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Data-driven approach with a passion for innovation, execution, and continuous improvement

 

 

Compensation: $105,000 - $125,000 base salary, plus quarterly bonus, profit sharing, and benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience
