What You’ll Do

Purpose of the role

The Payroll Systems Analyst supports the maintenance and processing of payroll for all Canadian Support Offices, Manufacturing and Distribution sites, and wholly owned stores. This role will contribute to delivering high-quality payroll services, researching, and assisting in implementing best payroll practices, and acting as a trusted advisor to all support groups. The position involves maintaining and implementing system solutions, including SAP SuccessFactors and UKG Pro WFM, and assisting with system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and aligning business requirements with system functionality. The Payroll Systems Analyst will collaborate with global teams to support payroll system upgrades, troubleshooting, documentation, and configuration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and configuration of payroll systems to meet business and payroll requirements.
  • Support the processing of full-cycle payroll for salaried and hourly employees across multiple provinces, ensuring compliance with provincial regulations and internal policies.
  • Create and analyze payroll reports to ensure accuracy, compliance with legislations, and alignment with company needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify system improvements and escalate issues to the global data team to ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in system testing by developing and executing test scripts, documenting results, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Conduct periodic audits to assess payroll, reporting, and system efficiency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Create and maintain guidelines, manuals, and documentation to ensure clarity on system usage and processes.
  • Develop and provide training to internal teams on system use and new system updates or features.
  • Function as a resource for troubleshooting reporting issues and providing solutions that improve efficiency and minimize errors.
  • Assist with month-end and annual payroll year-end processes, including reconciliations, government remittances, and the issuance of T4s, T2200s, and provincial year-end returns.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • 5+ years of experience in processing payroll across multiple provinces and participating in the successful implementation and testing of end-to-end payroll systems.
  • Strong understanding of payroll procedures, legislative requirements, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to propose solutions that enhance payroll processes and system efficiency.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into system functionality and technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, particularly when working with payroll data and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for managing payroll data and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the administration of international secondments or mobility programs.
  • Familiarity with SAP SuccessFactors and UKG Pro WFM is an asset.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies to enhance payroll processes.
  • Experience working with multi-HRIS systems and managing complex system integrations.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Payroll PCP or PLP designation is preferred.
