The role and team

Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting full-time opportunity for a Logistics Planner to join our supportive and high performing Inbound Logistics team!

Reporting into the Inbound Logistics Manager, you will efficiently and effectively oversee and monitor shipment operations into our warehouse and distribution centres while supporting deliveries aligned with project management objectives to stores. This includes analysing and coordinating distribution, internal allocation, delivery, and, when required, installation processes.

You will collaborate closely with the Inbound Logistics and Demand Planning & Forecasting teams to achieve delivery KPI targets (DIFOT, Cost per kilo), while building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as logistics providers, third-party suppliers, Store Partners, Retail, MGS, and Business Development departments. Working with these stakeholders, you will ensure meticulous attention to detail so that orders are placed, picked, and dispatched accurately, arriving to the destination required.

So, who are you?

  • You should have at least 3 years of experience in a relevant logistics or supply chain role, with a strong understanding of supply chain processes (essential)
  • You will have advanced Microsoft Excel skills or willingness to actively improve to an advanced level (essential)
  • You will be an active problem solver that display’s a positive & “Can-do” attitude while working autonomously and within a team (essential)
  • An understanding of the current Specsavers process of internal stock movement (desirable)
  • Experience working with freight forwarders in a client-facing role (desirable)
  • A high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organization & with external stakeholders and suppliers.
  • A strong eye for detail and a holistic business approach to tasks, with the ability to determine priorities, meet strict deadlines and effectively balance competing demands.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to prepare and present reports and documentation of high quality and integrity.
