The role and team

The Principal Systems Administrator: Platform plays a key role in the infrastructure team, handling the setup, maintenance, and smooth running of hardware and software systems. Reporting to the Infrastructure Operations Manager, you will lead and support our IT infrastructure operations.

This role involves designing and maintaining systems to meet business needs, managing hybrid environments including Azure, VMware, and Hyper-V, and ensuring the performance and security of servers, networks, and data centres. You’ll provide high-level technical support, mentor team members, and act as second-in-command to the Infrastructure Operations Manager.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in systems administration, a passion for continuous improvement, and a commitment to service excellence in a dynamic enterprise environment.

So, who are you?

  • You will have a minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Systems Administrator within Global enterprise environments (essential)
  • Proven expertise in managing large-scale, multi-platform Server environments (essential)
  • Strong experience with Virtualization in multi-site deployments, including backup solutions (essential)
  • Demonstrated capability in network and security across mixed vendor environments (essential)
  • You’ll be part of a shared after hours on-call roster, providing support as needed outside regular business hours.
  • Have comprehensive understanding of networking and server hardware, systems, topologies, protocols, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong incident management skills, including escalation and resolution aligned with business processes and priorities.
