Meet Priya Aggarwal: Optometry support consultant

As our Vancouver-based support team continues to grow, we are delighted to welcome Priyanka Aggarwal to the new role of Optometry Support Consultant, reporting to our Director of Optometry, Naomi Barber.

Priya is a registered optometrist who joins us from Specsavers in the UK where she has worked since 2018, most recently completing the Pathway program. Pathway is a standout Specsavers development program that upskills ambitious eyecare professionals for future business ownership and for other leadership roles. A hallmark of the program is that it empowers each participant to transform their career with the support of the world’s largest network of optometrists, as Priya explains.

“Since completing the program, Pathway has opened up several opportunities for me. While that could easily have been a store ownership role in the UK, instead I have opted for a leadership role with the Specsavers Canada support office. My personal experience and insight into the day-to-day running of stores from a clinical and operational perspective gives me the opportunity to make a real impact here where I now have responsibility for delivering clinical support to our fast-growing network of colleagues, to help them deliver enhanced patient outcomes. I am extremely grateful to the UK Pathway team for all they have done in helping me tap into my potential and I am excited about this role with Specsavers Canada.”

Canadian eyecare professionals with Specsavers, will be supported in clinic by Priya and will also have development opportunities as we plan and create the Pathway program in Canada for local needs.
