Louis Nielsen (the name Specsavers trades under in Denmark) beat fifty-six other Danish companies who were considered in the same category, and the award came just a few short months after Louis Nielsen received it’s very first accreditation as a Great Place to Work.
This incredible achievement is a result of a unique family bond and can-do mentality. It’s an attitude that resonates from our company’s history in the Danish optical market. This win is dedicated to the 823 partners, store and support office colleagues who stand united in making eye care accessible to everyone.
When presented with the award, CEO Mads Nygaard was overwhelmed by the win but luckily, his team were there to catch him.
The night continued in high spirits as the Louis Nielsen team enjoyed a fantastic dinner and performance by the remarkable Wallmanns entertainers. By the end of the evening, the team had developed a great hunger to aim even higher next year! It’s an urge driven by a competitive spirit that can never be suppressed.
“When Louis Nielsen challenged the norms of the Danish optical business in the 1990s, rumours and stories about us being a bad place to work spread very quickly. But over the past 15-20 years, we have seen a fantastic development of Louis Nielsen and our external image, which in many ways can compare to the old tale of The Ugly Duckling by H.C. Andersen. Now, Louis Nielsen is established as a leader in the industry and boasts being recognised as a Great Place to Work in Denmark,” explains Head of HR, Christina Elong Møller.
