The role
Merchandising Manager (12 month secondment - Nottingham)
Hey there! Let's dive into what makes our team tick and how we roll. First off, we're all about being collaborative. We work hand-in-hand with folks from Product and other parts of the business. It's like one big happy family, all pulling together to make things happen. We're also curious. We're always looking for ways to make things better, tweaking processes and finding new ways to improve. Think of us as the Sherlock Holmes of continuous improvement. And let's not forget being brave. We're not afraid to try new things, running tests and trials to clear the way for future projects and big dreams. It's all about taking those bold steps forward. We really get what others need and do our best to support them. It's all about having each other's backs. And last but definitely not least, we're commercial. We know how to spend money wisely, making sure every penny counts.
Now, onto the nitty-gritty of what we do. We provide top-notch support to our retail store colleagues and the RST for any merchandising queries, making sure we respond within 24 hours. Quick and efficient, that's our style. We keep a strong presence across our stores, building solid relationships with in-store merchandisers, RRMs, and DGMs. We're like the friendly neighbourhood superheroes of merchandising.
Keeping everyone in the loop is key. We make sure store colleagues are up-to-date with any changes to principles, POS, and planograms through the Merchandising Hub on Connect+ and our monthly store merchandising guide. We share the responsibility for the Ask Product mailbox, directing all communications to the right team within the SLA's. Teamwork makes the dream work! The frame room is our pride and joy. We work with the frames category team to keep it fresh and up to standard, handling monthly updates and discontinuations. We keep an eye on the competition by visiting other stores at least once a quarter. Then we bring back our findings and recommendations to the team. It's like being a secret shopper, but better. Leading changes to multi-category display units from start to finish is our jam. We handle everything from design and planograms to print operations and communications.
We develop, maintain, and analyse our merchandising toolkit, providing regular updates to stakeholders. It's all about keeping everyone informed and on the same page. Staying on top of the frame launch plan is crucial. We make sure our merchandising solutions align with any range changes. We lead cross-functional projects that support our annual plan tactics, all driven by insights. It's about making smart moves that align with our long-term goals.
We support UK and ROI project work and business development schedules. Plus, we're the final sign-off for store layout plans, ensuring they meet our merchandising principles.
So, that's us in a nutshell. We're a curious, brave, and understanding bunch, always ready to collaborate and make smart, commercial decisions. And we have a lot of fun doing it!
