Our store  

Specsavers Ashford relocated in December 2024 into a spacious, modern unit, and now boasts 12 fully equipped test rooms and the latest clinical technology. Beyond the customer areas, the store offers an outstanding environment for its team, featuring a large staff room with filtered water and coffee machine, a dedicated training room, locker room, and even a games room with a pool table, table tennis, and a chill-out zone. Specsavers Ashford is committed to delivering exceptional eye and hearing care while providing a fantastic place to work and develop a career.

Our team   

The Ashford Specsavers team is a dynamic group of around 40 dedicated professionals, all passionate about delivering exceptional care and advancing their careers. Training and progression are at the heart of the store’s culture, with team members regularly achieving outstanding results in their qualifications and moving into new areas of expertise such as Hearcare and advanced clinical services. Many colleagues go on to complete additional training, including wax removal and courses for further professional development. This commitment to learning and growth creates an inspiring environment where everyone is supported to reach their full potential.

• £7.75 per hour
• 40 hours per week (to include weekend working)

Who is this Apprenticeship for? 

If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as an Optical Assistant Apprentice. 

• Individuals with GSCE Maths at Grade 9-4 (A*-C), or an equivalent level qualification 
• Individuals who have lived in the EU for 3 years or more, with the right to work in the UK 

What does the role involve? 

• Welcoming customers into store 
• Booking in eye tests 
• Pre-screening patients 
• Providing style advice 
• Measuring frames 
• Taking phone calls
