Our store
The Dover Specsavers store on Biggin Street provides high‑quality eye and hearing care delivered by a dedicated and professional clinical team. The store features four test rooms, supporting efficient patient flow and enabling the team to deliver a seamless customer experience. It is easily accessible via public transport, with bus services stopping nearby, and Dover Priory train station situated only a short walk away — roughly around five minutes from the store. For those travelling by car, multiple parking options are available within a short walking distance, including Norman Street and Pencester Road car parks. With excellent access by bus, train and convenient nearby parking, the Dover store offers a welcoming and easily reachable location.
Our team
The Dover Specsavers store is supported by a dedicated team of around 16 colleagues across both optics and audiology, all working together to deliver a high standard of customer care. The store’s clinical and retail teams collaborate closely to create a friendly, supportive environment where customers receive clear guidance and personalised service throughout their visit. Their combined expertise and customer‑focused approach help ensure every visitor feels welcomed, supported, and confident in the care they receive.

- Salary of £7.75ph
- Full Time - 38.5 hours a week, to include weekend working

Your on-the-job training will sit alongside structured learning and at the end of the 15-18 months as an apprentice, you’ll be a fully-fledged Optical Assistant.
Who is this Apprenticeship for?
If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as an Optical Assistant Apprentice.
- You’ll need a grade 9-4 (A*-C) GCSEs in Maths (or equivalent/predicted result)
- Individuals who have lived in the EU for 3 years or more, with the right to work in the UK
