Our store   

Located in the heart of Rawtenstall, the Rossendale Specsavers store is an exciting new practice due to open at the end of September, offering a fantastic opportunity to join a brand-new team from the very beginning. Situated on Bank Street in the town centre, the store is close to a variety of shops, cafés and local amenities, with free parking available both in front and behind the store. The location is also well served by public transport, with regular bus routes connecting Rawtenstall to Haslingden, Bacup, Bury, Blackburn and Manchester, making it easily accessible from across the region. As a newly opening store, colleagues will play a key role in shaping the customer experience and building a successful practice, while benefiting from the support, training and career development opportunities available through the trusted Specsavers brand.

Our team   

As Rossendale Specsavers is a brand-new store opening at the end of September, you'll be part of an enthusiastic and supportive team helping to establish a fantastic customer experience from day one. Many of the colleagues joining the store will be bringing their experience from the successful Specsavers Bury team, creating a strong foundation of knowledge, support and best practice. The team is passionate about delivering outstanding customer care and works closely together in a collaborative environment where everyone's contribution is valued. With a focus on teamwork, development and continuous learning, you'll have the opportunity to build your skills, gain confidence and progress your career while being supported by experienced and friendly colleagues

Your on-the-job training will sit alongside structured learning and at the end of the 15-18 months as an apprentice, you’ll be a fully-fledged Optical Assistant.   

Who is this Apprenticeship for?  

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, please take a moment to check you meet the criteria below before applying:

  • You have GCSEs in Maths at grades 9–4 (A*–C), or an equivalent qualification
  • You’ve lived in the EU for at least 3 years and have the right to work in the UK
  • You’re not currently enrolled in another government-funded course
