You’ll work with the store team to deliver high-standard clinical care and customer service to meet both patient needs and business objectives. And of course, you’ll be a key part in creating a warm and friendly environment for our customers and our team.

Our store

Specsavers in Carmarthen is looking for an ambitious and talented Optometrist to join their thriving store. Carmarthen is often dubbed the ‘Garden of Wales’. Carmarthenshire boasts unspoilt beaches, breathtaking countryside, medieval buildings, outdoor activities, locally grown food and artisan restaurants/cafes. Carmarthen benefits road links to M4, as well as direct train links to Swansea, Cardiff, London and Manchester. Our recently rebranded practice hosts 5 full size test rooms all with easy patient access, as expected from a modular ground floor premises. The practice is appointed with modern technical diagnostic equipment; perfect for those seeking clinical advancement, utilising higher accreditations or those hoping to attain an equity shareholding in the future. We also have our sister store in Ammanford, so if you fancy working across both practices for a more diverse caseload and change of scenary, then is is also possible.  This is a great practice for anyone wanting to develop their career, both clinically and professionally. Colleague development takes centre stage whether you want to obtain higher accreditations such as IP or are interested in becoming a director yourself one day. We are committed to fostering growth and providing opportunities for colleagues to reach their full potential and our senior management and directors are on hand to offer guidance and support.

In October 2023, a new contract for the delivery of eye care services in the community came into force in Wales - Wales General Opthalmic Services (WGOS). Under the new regulataions, optometrirsts will be able to fully utilse their professional higher accreditations when delivering eye care at primary level.
