The role

How does working in the “Outdoor Capital of the UK” sound? You could do just that at our brand-new store opening in Fort William.

Our store

Located in the Scottish Highlands, Fort William is famous for its stunning landscapes, rich history and outdoor activities. Situated at the foot of Ben Nevis, Fort William serves as a gateway to the Scottish Highlands – some of Scotland’s most beautiful outdoor destinations. The town is famous for the Jacobite Steam Train, which is known as the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films.

Specsavers are opening a brand-new store this March, and we are looking for an ambitious and forward-thinking Optometrist to join their team on a full or part time basis. This is such a rare opportunity to step into a brand-new clinical environment and shape the way the store operates from day one.

As this is a brand-new store you will be working in a modern, fresh and bright environment. Fort William will initially have 2 test rooms expanding to 4 rooms over time and all will be equipped with the latest clinical technology including OCT, FARS and a Zeiss Fields Analyser.

The store partners are leading the way for clinical and professional progression, making Fort William the perfect place to advance your career as they will support you through Professional Certificates or if you would like to be a director yourself one day, they are best placed to support you with this journey.

Fort William really is a unique place that could offer you a wonderful outdoor lifestyle outside of the test room.

As well as all the support you need and great training and development opportunities, we have a whole load of benefits on offer for you to enjoy. These include:
