About the store

Specsavers in Bangor first opened its doors in 1992. The store sits in a prominent position in the Deiniol Centre and is firmly embedded within the local community. The loyal and growing local customer base includes significant passing trade who come to the Deiniol Centre.

 

Specsavers in Bangor pride themselves in ensuring that every one of their customers receives an excellent patient experience. The high levels of service and patient care have led to numerous positive customer reviews, earning them a 4.5 out of 5 stars online.

 

The store boasts 7 optical test rooms – all fully equipped with the latest clinical technology, including OCT – meaning you will have everything you need to perform sight tests to the highest possible standards. Specsavers in Bangor, have a clear-sighted vision to transform eye health in their community.

 

A team of 35 dedicated and passionate colleagues call this store home. The existing Partners are really passionate about the clinical development of the team, and as the new Optometry Director you would have the scope to advise on training requirements, introduce new specialisms and build/shape the team further as required.

 

You would be joining Gareth Riley and Thomas Molyneux who has been with the Specsavers store in Bangor for many years and have been Directors of the store for the past year. They are really looking forward to gaining an Optometry Partner to help them drive the business forward so that it flourishes for many years to come.

 

Store location

The store is located in the heart of the vibrant city of Bangor in North Wales. With excellent transport links there’s a mainline railway and local bus station within walking distance and access to the A55 only 10mins from the store, it’s not uncommon for people to travel from far and wide to visit us. There’s something here for everyone: from shops, bars and restaurants to museums and parks for families to enjoy. As the new Optometry Partner in Bangor, your customer base will be very diverse – but there’ll plenty of familiar faces too.

 

Requirements of the role

Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, you’ll need to share the store’s ethos. They’re looking for someone who wants to grow and develop the team, offer exceptional customer care and improve patient outcomes. You’ll be a practitioner who prides themself on their clinical judgment, isn’t afraid of a hands-on approach, and someone who is keen to get involved and build a rapport with their team. In summary, you’ll be a highly skilled Optometry professional willing and able to help drive the practice forward.
