About the stores
Eastleigh
Specsavers in Eastleigh first opened its doors over 33 years ago so is a well-established business in the community. The store sits in a central position on the main shopping high street, a stone’s throw from the Swan Shopping Centre.
A team of 30 dedicated and passionate colleagues call this store home. 8 years ago the store underwent a full refit and last year a full project boost. There are 5 optical test rooms and 2 dedicated audiology rooms all equipped with the latest clinical technology including OCT.
The store is located in bustling Eastleigh; 6 miles north of Southampton and 8 miles south of Winchester. It’s part of the picturesque Hamble Valley area, close to Lakeside and Itchen Valley Country Parks.
There are excellent transport links with Eastleigh train station just a 5 minute walk from the store where you can catch a train to London in an hour and a half. Less than a mile and half from Eastleigh, you’ll find a second train station called Southampton Parkway which sits alongside Southampton Airport. There’s easy access to the M3 and M27 South Coast Highway.
Chandlers Ford
Chandlers Ford, an affluent residential area close to Eastleigh has been ranked by Economists as one of the most desirable places to live in the UK. The store is centrally located on the main shopping high street and close to The Mall Shopping Centre.
A team of 12 dedicated and passionate colleagues call this store home. This is a relatively new store, being open for 5 years. It has 3 optical test rooms and 1 dedicated audiology room. A boost is planned in October 2024 which will update and modernise the store and test rooms.
Chandlers Ford is around 2 miles east of Eastleigh, 7 miles north of Southampton and 8 miles south of Winchester. There’s plenty of green spaces surrounding the town as well as local woods and lakes which are great for walking and cycling.
There are excellent transport links with Chandlers Ford train station a 15 minute walk from the store where a train to Eastleigh takes around 5 minutes and London about 2 hours.
Requirements of the role
Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, you’ll need to share the store’s ethos. They’re looking for someone who wants to grow and develop the teams, offer exceptional customer care and improve patient outcomes. You’ll be a practitioner who prides themselves on their clinical judgment, isn’t afraid of a hands-on approach, and someone who is keen to get involved and build a rapport with their team. In summary, you’ll be a highly skilled Optometry professional willing and able to help drive the practice forward.
