The Opportunity
Specsavers Tuam is seeking an Optometrist Partner to acquire a 50% shareholding in the business.

Current Partners Deirdre Mannion and Damien Kilmurray first became Partners in 2018 and 2023 at Specsavers Tullamore, before opening their second store in Tuam in 2024. Located in Tuam Shopping Centre, just a short distance from the town centre, the store benefits from excellent public transport connections and nearby multi storey parking. The new practice features two optical test rooms and one dual test room.

The store has enjoyed impressive early success, driven by a talented and motivated new team. With strong weekly demand and a steady flow of new patients, the business is already building a solid reputation. Deirdre and Damien have created an exceptional working culture—achieving a 100% Great Place to Work score, reflecting the supportive, development focused environment across both stores.

Requirements of the role
Alongside being a qualified and CORU registered Optometrist with the drive, passion and willingness to maintain the customer-focused culture and the high standards of this successful store. As the new Optometry Partner, you’ll be able to provide a unique blend of customer care and professional excellence. You’ll be able to build a rapport with the existing team, demonstrate excellent attention to detail and possess an ability to build strong relationships within the local community.
