The role

Our Technology team plays a vital role in this mission, delivering value-focused, efficient solutions that empower our people and customers. We’re now looking for a strategic and forward-thinking experienced PMO Capability / centre of excellence Lead to join our Portfolio Management Office (PMO) and help shape the future of our global technology function to enable transformation across the business.

 

The PMO sits at the heart of our IT function, overseeing enterprise-wide transformation and change initiatives. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing and embedding best-in-class portfolio management frameworks that support both agile and waterfall delivery. You’ll lead the development of a robust competency model for managing portfolios, programmes, projects, and EPICs, ensuring measurable and monitored success across the function.

 

You’ll also be the driving force behind governance and standardisation, establishing policies and processes that ensure consistency and quality in delivery. Your work will include evaluating and implementing innovative tools—potentially AI-driven—that enhance collaboration and streamline project execution. You’ll work closely with our data and analytics teams to ensure systems are optimised for reporting, resource management, and delivery performance.

 

This is a role for someone who thrives on capability building and continuous improvement. You’ll lead training sessions and workshops, mentor delivery leaders, and champion change across the organisation. Your influence will extend to shaping a roadmap of PMO capabilities in partnership with the Head of IT PMO, aligning your goals with broader business objectives. You’ll be deploying processes and training via a global network of technology delivery and PMO colleague change champions with support from our wider L&D network, making a real difference!

You’ll be a key communicator, ensuring stakeholders are informed and engaged with PMO initiatives. Your insights will be backed by data, as you establish reporting frameworks and dashboards that provide real-time visibility into project performance and maturity.

 

To succeed, you’ll bring experience in portfolio or PMO leadership, with a strong grasp of both agile and traditional project methodologies. Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or SAFe Agile are highly desirable. You’ll be a strategic thinker with a passion for innovation, a knack for stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to excellence in delivery.
