As a Trainee Optical Assistant, you don’t need to have previous experience, you just need to be prepared to create an outstanding store environment for both our customers and our team, making sure every patient receives the best care in our stores. Full training and support will be offered for this role.

We would be keen to chat to candidates who have current or previous optical experience too!

Our business

Based at Unit 1, The Loreburne Shoppin Centre, Dumfries, our store is a busy and vibrant place to be with great access via public transport and parking available nearby. Our store has great facilities, including 6 test rooms.

We have a wonderful team of 30 friendly and dedicated people in our store ready and waiting for you to meet!

What we’re looking for? 

Some of the responsibilities of this role include: 

• Welcoming customers into store 
• Booking in eye tests 
• Pre-screening patients 
• Providing style advice 
• Measuring frames 
• Taking phone calls
