Since 2010, volunteers from Nordic stores have travelled to Tanzania to provide eye tests and distribute recycled glasses to remote communities. In 2024 alone, more than 129,000 pairs were processed, with the highest-quality glasses carefully selected and delivered to those in need through Specsavers’ humanitarian project, Give Sight to Tanzania.
This project reaches people who would otherwise go without, and it leaves a personal and life-changing mark on everyone involved.
Seeing the joy of those we helped made our purpose as a business feel more real than ever. I was also struck by how quickly strangers united around a shared goal. That week in Tanzania is something I’ll carry with me forever.
