The role
Are you ready to take your skills on the road? As a Home Visits Optical Assistant at Specsavers, you can do just that.
If you love your job but are a bit bored, if you love working with patients but want a new challenge, then this role might be for you.
You’ll be driving our services to the doorsteps of the nation, providing eye care to the people who are unable to come into our stores. Not only do you help them with their sight, you’ll also be bringing smiles and clinical care into the heart of your community.
The job is varied: you’ll work in a range of locations and testing environments every day – no two days are the same. Our region covers South West London and Greater London. Our ever-expanding team is scattered across the region so we will always aim to keep you as close to home as possible. Due to travel times, our preferred candidate will be based in one of the following postcode areas - W3, W5, W7 or W13.
With more 1-on-1 time spent with patients in the place where they feel comfortable, you can really cater to their needs and make a real difference in their lives.
We can only shorlist candidates who are experienced Optical Assistants, and can confidently dispense at all levels, hold a full UK driving licence and have their own car.
Our business
Our region covers South West London and Greater London providing care to vulnerable patients in their own homes.
Our team
We have a wonderful team of dedicated people ready and waiting for you to meet.
What’s on offer?
As well as all the support you need and great training and development opportunities, we have a whole load of benefits on offer for you to enjoy. These include:
- Full-time: 5 days 9am-5.30pm (flexiblity required)
- Salary up to £28,000 DOE
- Welcome Bonus of up to £3000 T & Cs apply
- Car allowance of £3000 per annum
- Bonus Scheme
- 28 days holiday (includes Bank Holidays)
- Your birthday as an additional paid day off
- Benefits include Specsavers Perks - a portal to a world of great everyday discounts and savings
- Eyecare and hearcare discounts for you and your family
- WeCare - our employee support service to help you and your immediate family when you need it most
What we’re looking for?
If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as a Home Visits Optical Assistant. These include:
- Current or recent optical experience (at least 6 months-1 year) and you must be able to confidently dispense at all levels
- You must hold a full UK driving licence and have your own car
Find out more
If you’ve got all these skills, we’d love for you to apply, but there’s also some desirable experience that could set you apart from the competition if you have it.
This includes:
- Previous experience in a fast-paced customer service environment
- Experience in optics
