Are you passionate about transforming lives through better sight and hearing? Do you want to be part of a team that delivers outstanding value, is loved by every customer, and creates a workplace where all colleagues are proud to belong? Join Specsavers as we grow our business and make a difference!
At Specsavers, our Service Strategy & Design team is at the forefront of shaping and delivering consistent, compliant, and efficient end-to-end services. We ensure alignment with the IT Strategy, manage the Service Portfolio, and identify the impact of changes on Infrastructure & Operations. Our team works across the organisation to design and transition services that are fully supportable and measurable.
As a Service Designer, you will play a key role within the Service Strategy and Design team. Your purpose will be to define, develop, and oversee the design of IT services to ensure they meet business needs and align with our IT Service Strategy. You will bridge the gap between business requirements, technical capabilities, and operational considerations, ensuring services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
In this role, you will lead the design and development of end-to-end IT services, including infrastructure, application, and operational components. You will ensure people, third-party, and budget impacts are factored into the service design. Collaborating with value stream leads, IT teams, and third-party vendors, you will define and document service requirements and act as a key point of contact for service-related discussions during project planning and execution phases. You will develop and maintain service design templates, standards, and documentation, ensuring alignment with compliance, security, and regulatory requirements.
You will collaborate with IT Operations teams (Infrastructure, Networks, Cloud & Service Desk) to ensure services are designed for reliability, availability, and supportability. Defining and documenting SLAs, OLAs, and KPIs will be part of your responsibilities. You'll ensure full documentation and knowledge transfer into the Service Transition team to enable the safe introduction of the designed service into production. Analysing performance metrics and feedback, you will identify opportunities for service optimisation and enhancement, supporting the ongoing evolution of service architecture practices and methodologies within IT Operations.
Assessing and mitigating risks associated with service designs, you will ensure potential impacts on operations are identified and addressed. You will provide governance and oversight during service transitions to ensure seamless deployment and handover.
