New Talent Programme
Discover where every new opportunity can take you
As part of our New Talent Programme, we’ll provide you with the first-class development and support you need to be able to find a future career that suits you best. Over 12 months you’ll expand your skills, and discover hidden talents by working in different roles and teams across the business. You’ll gain a comprehensive view of everything we do here at Specsavers, all while benefiting first-hand from our decades of market-leading expertise and working as part of a tightly knit, global team, in stores and support offices across the UK.
The programme is open to graduates and experienced professionals alike. Essentially, it’s for people who are in the early stages of their career (or want to change career paths), who are ambitious, want to progress their career quickly and are committed to their own development so they can achieve this.

When it comes to new talent schemes, at Specsavers we see things differently. Working with us, you’ll meet and receive personal support from our senior leaders, who will be on-hand throughout your programme and help you to understand everything you need to know about what their teams do.

Discover where you can excel
There’s plenty of variety on offer at Specsavers. As well as completing at least two placements (opportunities include social media, technology, human resources to name a few), you’ll also lead and assist in projects, and continually explore your limits so you can discover an area where you can truly excel.
Learn, develop, advance
You will receive 12 months of carefully structured development. For the first six months one day a week will be dedicated to focussing solely on your progression, feeding your appetite to succeed. Followed by three residential experiences to support you through your final six months of the programme.

We’re a global business, with stores and offices in Europe and beyond. You’ll have the opportunity to visit and work alongside colleagues throughout the UK, and possibly further afield in northern Europe, so make sure to pack a bag!

From Norwich to Norway
So that you can get the most out of being part of our New Talent group, and we can support you in getting as much support settling in as you need, you’ll need to be able to easily get to one of our UK support offices in Whiteley, Nottingham or Guernsey or be willing to relocate so that you can. We know changing location can come with additional costs, so if you’re not currently on good transports links or within a commutable drive, talk to us about how we can support you with a potential move.
The key facts
- 12-month programme with the opportunity to experience at least two roles in the business – could be across any function such as Marketing, Technology, Operations and more
- First placement role includes structured development every Friday for the first six months
- Second placement selected based on a one-to-one conversation to understand your progress and motivations
- Three residential development experiences in the second six months to support your second placement
- Final destination role based on one-to-one conversation to understand your progress and aspirations
- Celebration event with your fellow participants to mark the end of your year long programme
