Being a hearing aid dispenser at Specsavers

Our hearing aid dispensers are an essential part of our Audiology teams. They assess our customers’ hearing, advise them on the best hearing care or protection, and fit hearing aids. They’re there to listen and build trust with customers, so that they can improve hearing and reconnect them with their lives in the ways that matter most. Join us and you’ll have the freedom to grow your career in audiology with the support of your store team around you. And after you graduate, you’ll have access to a wide range of opportunities to train and develop, whether it’s in clinical expertise, leadership skills or you want to specialise.

Routes into the role

We offer two ways to become a qualified hearing aid dispenser. If you’re in England you can apply for the apprenticeship HAD which is a higher Level 5 apprenticeship, equivalent to a foundation degree. In Scotland, Wales and Ireland, we offer the trainee hearing aid dispenser position where you’ll do a foundation degree in Hearing Aid Dispensing. Both routes offer you external qualifications, accredited by the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and your course provider. The best part is, both courses are fully funded either through the apprenticeship levy or by the store you’ll be working in. And you’ll receive a competitive salary package while you train.
